IAOS General Assembly |
IAOS members are invited to attend the IAOS General Assembly meeting that will take place in Sydney on Friday, April 8, 2005, from 11:15 to 13:00. The location of the meeting will be announced in the conference bulletin.
The preliminary agenda is as follows:
- Opening remarks
- Report of the IAOS activities 2003-2005
- Financial report
- Nomination of members of the Executive Committee for 2005-2007. The Nomination Committee, under the chairmanship of Hallgrimur Snorrason and comprising Chultemjamts Davaasuren, Rob Edwards, Denise Lievesley and Lars Thygesen, has proposed the following slate for the next IAOS Executive Committee (2005-2007):
President (replacing the presently nominated Mr Hermann Habermann, USA, who is unfortunately unable to assume this post):
Mr Brian Pink, Government Statistician, Statistics New Zealand
President Elect:
Mr Olav Ljones, Deputy Director-General, Statistics Norway
Vice-Presidents:
Mr Paul Crowley, International Relations Office, Central Statistical Office, Ireland
Ms Carmelita N. Ericta, Director-General, National Statistical Office, the Philippines
Mr Shigeru Kawasaki, Director-General, Statistical Training and Research Centre, Statistics Bureau, Japan
Ms Aija Zigure, Director-General, National Statistical Office, Latvia
- Establishment of working groups. At least the following working groups might be considered: WG on issues of membership and revitalising of the IAOS and WG on future programming issues. Volunteers for members are highly welcomed!
- Discussion of 2006 IAOS Conference
- Discussion on preparation for 2007 ISI Conference in Portugal
- Report on SCORUS activities
- Any other business
