55th ISI Session – Sydney 2005 |
Proposals Welcome for the Invited Papers Programme
During the recent meeting of the ISI Council, there were two major decisions regarding the functioning of the various committees that co-operate to produce the invited paper programme for the ISI Session;
- It was decided that the ISI Programme Committee would be renamed (to avoid confusion with the ISI Programme Co-ordinating Committee) and would consist of a separate Chair, and 3-5 members. This Committee is now called the ISI General Topics Committee. The Chair of the ISI General Topics Committee will be an ex officio member of the ISI Programme Co-ordinating Committee (Stephen Morgenthaler will serve as interim Chair until a formal appointment is made);
- The Council approved ISI Past President Jean-Louis Bodin’s proposal to develop standardised forms upon which contributors can indicate their official invited paper proposal. These forms can be accessed from the ISI webpage at http://isi.cbs.nl/55thsessionform.htm.
The ISI Programme Co-ordinating Committee (under the Chairmanship of Stephan Morgenthaler) and the ISI General Topics Committee (previously known as the ISI Programme Committee), will now begin their work in preparing the scientific programme for the Sydney 2005 ISI Session. All ISI and ISI Section members are urged to submit proposals for invited paper meetings to the ISI General Topics Committee, or their Section Programme Committee now! These proposals should be sent to one of the following Committee representatives:
Scientific Programme Committee Chairs:
- ISI Programme Co-ordinating Committee: Stephen Morgenthaler (stephan.morgenthaler@epfl.ch)
- ISI General Topics Committee: interim chair: Stephen Morgenthaler (stephan.morgenthaler@epfl.ch)
