ISI - International Statistical Institute
Newsletter Volume 26, No. 3 (78) 2002

We would love to have your E-mail address!

As we announced in the last Newsletter, we are busy preparing a 'historical' membership list. This list will contain the names of all persons who have ever been an ISI member since its foundation in 1885. It is an update of the booklet that appeared at the occasion of the ISI Centenary in 1985, the rather famous 'blue book'. While checking and completing the information, we noticed that many e-mail addresses were either incorrect or missing. Therefore we asked you to check the address information given in our address list on our web site. We already have received many reactions for which we are very grateful.

We especially requested your e-mail addresses, because in this era of electronic communication it is obvious that an international organisation like the ISI cannot afford to work without e-mail. The ease, speed and low price of e-mail gives us the chance to undertake projects that would be impossible otherwise. May we ask again all ISI members to check our web pages (http://isi.cbs.nl/ISImembers.PDF), where a complete membership list can be found. Please inform us by e-mail (@cbs.nl) of any missing or incorrect addresses you may discover.

Please note that the ISI website contains a list of ISI members only. In addition, several of the five ISI sections have published their membership lists on their own websites. Of course any corrections or updates to this information is welcome as well.
