Scope:

The objective of the Association is to develop social, scientific and professional activities in the field of theory, methodology, practice and to promote statistical knowledge. The Association finds it especially important to provide elementary and professional education in the field of statistics and to develop the awareness of economic and statistical issues among the general public in the period of the importance of the statistical information in economical and social sciences.

Membership:

Over 800 ordinary concentrated in 17 regional branches.

Publications:

- Statistics in Transition – New Series. The journal, edited in cooperation with the Central Statistical Office, is expected to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences in various field of statistics. It publishes articles on statistical methods and their applications in investigating social and economic processes, especially those relevant to economies in transition. - Statistical News. A monthly journal edited in cooperation with the Central Statistical Office; contains articles on the results of statistical surveys and provides information including the activities of the Polish Statistical Association. http://www.stat.gov.pl/gus/5840_2624_ENG_HTML.htm

Activities of the Polish Statistical Association, which we consider important:

Promoting statistics by public lectures, held by outstanding Polish experts in various areas of statistics.

Scientific conferences, organized by the Polish Statistical Association in cooperation with Central Statistical Office and different higher education units:

Activities of the Bureau for Statistical Research and Analyses, which is considered as a part of the organizational structure of Polish Statistical Association.
